NES Fircroft is seeking a Project Lead Service for cables to join a freelance engagement in Belgium. The role covers HV infrastructure across 380/220/150/70/36 kV, with end-to-end involvement from definition to completion and on-site coordination with Elia Group and contractors.

The candidate holds a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electromechanical/Civil/Mechanical Engineering, has initial post-graduate experience, and fluent Dutch; knowledge of French/Dutch is an asset. On-site 2 days/week.

Project Lead Service - CABLES

Mission Description

NESFricroft are supporting a Belgian TSO on the sourcing of a Project Leader in HV cable service to join on a freelance contractual basis.

The Belgian and European energy landscape is undergoing significant transformation. And our client requires expertise in this field to contribute to Belgium’s grid upgrade projects across the country.

Service Description

The Project Lead Service will contribute to electrical infrastructure projects involving cables at voltage levels of 380 kV, 220 kV, 150 kV, 70 kV, and 36 kV.

Responsibilities include:

1. Involvement throughout the entire project lifecycle, from definition through completion:
   • Participation in project definition, studies, and design
   • Ensuring project execution
   • Managing administrative project closure
2. Conducting and supervising technical studies.
3. Performing calculations, developing and monitoring project budgets, and planning projects while considering available resources, requirements, and customer requests.
4. Preparing tender documentation and participating in procurement processes.
5. Managing and coordinating on-site execution in collaboration with Elia Group personnel, suppliers, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
6. Communicating and reporting on project progress.

Depending on experience, these responsibilities may be carried out independently or under guidance. Elia offers an extensive training and development program.
