Jan De Nul Group in Aalst, Belgium is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to develop, analyze and monitor project schedules, serving as a crucial link between execution and strategic decision making.

You will collaborate on robust programmes, monitor deadlines, report discrepancies to the Project Manager, and keep a proactive eye on project performance while coordinating with the Tender team and travel abroad as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in economics or engineering sciences.
  • Basic knowledge of the Primavera software package is an advantage, but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Fluent English is essential.
  • Willingness to travel and work from Aalst office.

Your Work Context

Due to the strong growth of the offshore renewable energy market, we are looking for a driven Project Controls Engineer who wants to contribute to innovative and sustainable projects. In this role, you are responsible for developing, analyzing, and monitoring project schedules, acting as a crucial link between project execution and strategic decision‑making.

Your Role

Due to the significant growth of the offshore renewable energy market, the Project Controls department is expanding and is looking for a Project Controls Engineer.

Your main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Collaborating on the development of a robust programme and analysing the time schedule accurately.
  • Maintaining a continuous overview of the follow‑up of projects.
  • Monitoring the performance and deadlines of the projects.
  • Reporting to the Project Manager and Tender Coordinator on any discrepancies between the planned and the actual progress.
  • Evaluating alternative ideas and integrating innovative approaches.

As a fully fledged planning engineer having had on‑the‑job training, you can further specialise within the domains of Project Controlling.

What do you need to have?

You have a master’s degree in economics or engineering sciences. Basic knowledge of the Primavera software package is an advantage, but not a requirement. You are comfortable learning new software. You have good analytical skills, can work independently, and work accurately while meeting deadlines. Proper knowledge of English is essential. You will be working from our offices in Aalst, but you are open to travel abroad.
