Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Program Manager – Technology Transformation to lead a major technology modernization initiative. You will own the technology roadmap, oversee programs and projects, and develop a Project Manager within the team.

With 10+ years in project and program management, you will drive governance, budgeting and cross-functional coordination across IT and business units, including a challenging AS400 carve-out and international group stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in project and program management.
• Proven leadership of large-scale technology or IT transformation programs.
• Experience with legacy modernization and application rationalization.
• Strong governance, budgeting and risk management skills.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.

For one of our clients, a leading insurance company operating within an international group, I am looking for an experienced Program Manager – Technology Transformation.

The organization is going through a major technology transformation, with a strong focus on simplifying its IT landscape and reducing its dependency on a legacy AS400 environment.

You will join a multidisciplinary Transformation team and take overarching ownership of the technology roadmap and its underlying programs and projects. In parallel, you will manage and develop a Project Manager within the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technology transformation programs from roadmap definition through implementation
• Drive the simplification and modernization of the IT landscape, including a major AS400 carve-out
• Establish the required program structure, governance, planning and reporting
• Translate strategic technology objectives into clear workstreams, deliverables, priorities and measurable outcomes
• Manage interdependencies and prerequisites across applications, business processes, data, infrastructure and external partners
• Identify and resolve risks, issues, resource constraints and delivery roadblocks
• Oversee financial planning, resource allocation, benefit tracking and overall program progress
• Ensure alignment between business, IT, transformation teams and international group stakeholders
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders from operational teams through ExCom and Board level
• Lead, coach and develop the Project Manager assigned to the program

Profile

• 10+ years of experience in project and program management
• Proven experience leading large-scale technology or IT transformation programs
• Experience with complex legacy modernization, system carve-outs, application rationalization or comparable technology transformations
• Ability to rapidly understand a complex IT landscape and establish effective program governance
• Strong understanding of business–IT dependencies and enterprise-wide transformation
• Experience in insurance or another highly regulated environment is strongly preferred
• Proven people-management and senior stakeholder-management capabilities
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, resource planning, benefit tracking, risk management and delivery governance
• Structured, hands-on and result-oriented approach
• Full professional fluency in Dutch, French and English

The ideal candidate is not necessarily a deeply technical architect, but must be sufficiently technology-minded to challenge IT stakeholders, understand critical dependencies and steer a complex legacy transformation with confidence.
