Job summary

Bekaert in Belgium is looking for a dynamic leader to head a manufacturing plant, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while building a high-performing team.

You will partner with Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Planning to optimize performance, develop talent, and ensure on-time delivery of customer commitments, leveraging Lean and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of quality systems and performance management.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

• Ensure on-time delivery and world-class quality standards for customers.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire production teams to achieve ambitious safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Champion a strong Health, Safety & Environment culture where every employee goes home safe every day.
• Drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and best-practice processes.
• Manage production performance, KPIs, budgets, and workforce planning to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Partner closely with Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Planning teams to optimize plant performance.
• Ensure customer commitments are met through on-time delivery and world-class quality standards.
• Coach, mentor, and develop talent, creating an engaged, empowered, and high-performing workforce.

Skills

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to inspire, develop, and motivate people to achieve exceptional results.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and performance management.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
