Job summary

Capgemini Belgium is seeking a proactive Procurement Engineer to provide expert technical support across the full supplier lifecycle, aligned with the client's Purchasing Engineering team on site. You will drive supplier readiness, risk management, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, supplier-facing environment.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience in industrialisation, supply chain or procurement engineering, with strong English communication and a background in automotive supplier

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in a technical or supplier-facing role.
• Experience in the automotive sector and supplier production preparation processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review supplier proposals, manufacturing concepts, process flows, tooling plans and capacity submissions, identifying risks with clear countermeasures.
• Plan and coordinate supplier production preparation activities from nomination and drawing release through Start of Production.
• Review tooling, equipment and process readiness, attend supplier trials and document findings and countermeasures.
• Assess supplier manufacturing performance and support improvement using lean manufacturing and structured problem solving.
• Monitor suppliers for technical, quality, delivery, capacity and operational risks; escalate with impact assessments and countermeasures.

Working in close alignment with our client's Purchasing Engineering team on-site, you will play a key role in ensuring supplier readiness, managing risk and driving continuous improvement across the supply base.In this role you will play a key role in:Reviewing supplier proposals, manufacturing concepts, process flows, tooling plans and capacity submissions, identifying and documenting technical, quality, delivery and project risks with clear countermeasuresPlanning and coordinating supplier production preparation activities from nomination and drawing release through to Start of Production, supporting or leading Supplier Parts Tracking Team (SPTT) activities including readiness checks, on-site confirmations and action follow-upReviewing tooling, equipment and process readiness, attending supplier trials and documenting findings, abnormalities and verified countermeasure status against quality, production rate and process stability targetsAssessing supplier manufacturing performance and supporting improvement activities using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles, including structured problem solving, visual management and process confirmationMonitoring assigned suppliers for technical, quality, delivery, capacity and operational risks, supporting root cause analysis, coordinating recovery actions and providing concise escalation with impact assessments and countermeasure status to key stakeholdersYOUR PROFILEWe are looking for a proactive and structured professional who is confident working in a fast-paced, supplier-facing environment.
