Drever International S.A. in Liege, Belgium, part of the SMS group, seeks a Process & Site Commissioning Expert to lead commissioning on large furnace projects.

The role requires coordinating electrical/instrumentation activities, ensuring performance targets, and managing cross-functional site teams and customers. We value hands-on engineers with 5+ years in commissioning or startup, strong technical and interpersonal skills, fluency in French and English, and willingness to travel up to 70–80%

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate site activities during installation, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing phases.
• Supervise electrical and instrumentation installation works, including cable routing, wiring, panels, devices, and field equipment.
• Manage commissioning activities such as calibration checks, I/O checks, sequence testing, control loop tuning, and functional validation.
• Ensure process performance targets, quality standards, and operational requirements are achieved during furnace start-up.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representatives.
• Prepare and maintain site schedules, progress reports, commissioning procedures, and technical documentation.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process, electrical, instrumentation, and operational issues during project execution.
• Participate in performance optimization and process improvement activities to achieve contractual guarantees.
• Prepare technical reports, NCRs, punch lists, and final site documentation.
• Promote and enforce the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance on site.

YOU ACT

As a Process & Site Commissioning Expert, you will:

• Lead and coordinate site activities during installation, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing phases.

YOU KNOW

We are looking for a hands-on expert with strong technical and interpersonal skills:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial commissioning, start-up, process optimization, or site supervision.
• Solid understanding of industrial processes, production support, operational performance improvement, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, automation systems, electrical installations, and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multicultural teams and customers.
• Proficiency in both French and English , written and spoken. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
• Valid work permit in Belgium
• Good command of Microsoft Office and planning tools.
• Willingness to travel internationally for extended assignments (up to 70–80% of the time).
