imec, a world‑leading nanotechnology research center in Leuven, Belgium, seeks a Pilot Line Engineer for second‑line troubleshooting in lithography. You will join the Litho & Coating Development engineering team responsible for standard lithography processes and tools, and for evaluating/validating upscaled techniques.

You will lead daily process/tool follow‑ups, drive problem prevention, and develop long‑term solutions through root‑cause analysis, working with researchers, hardware engineers

Qualifications

  • Master in Science or Engineering or equal by experience.
  • Experience in lithography is a strong asset.
  • Autonomous work style with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong communication and reporting in cross‑functional teams.

Responsabilités

  • Daily follow-up of lithography processes and tools; qualification, stability, improvements and problem prevention.
  • Troubleshoot litho processing issues and enable first line troubleshooters to advance.
  • Investigate recurring issues, focusing on root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
  • Communicate clearly to stakeholders via systems, meetings and email.
  • Collaborate in a dynamic, multicultural environment with researchers, hardware engineers and operations.
  • Work in a two-shifts system (Early/Late) including one weekend out of three to support 24/7 fab.

Description du poste

Join us as Pilot Line Engineer, second line troubleshooting for all tools and processes in the Lithography area.

What you will do

You will be a member of the Litho & Coating Development engineering team. This team is responsible for the standard lithography processes and tools and follows up processes under evaluation/validation for upscaling.

As a pilot line engineer, your tasks will be:

  • Being responsible for daily follow-up of processes & tools, their qualification, stability, improvements and problem prevention.
  • Troubleshooting issues related to the litho processing and enabling first line trouble shooters to step up.
  • Investigation of reoccurring issues, focusing on root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
  • Communicating clearly to stakeholders via multiple communication channels (systems, meetings, mails, etc.)
  • Collaborating in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural environment in close cooperation with researchers, hardware engineers, operations, industry assignees, device and process experts.
  • Working in a two shifts system (Early/Late) including one weekend out of three (Sa/Su), to support the 24h by 7d fab.

Who you are
  • You obtained a Master in Science or Engineering or equal by experience and display strong engineering skills and mindset.
  • Experience in lithography is a strong asset.
  • You like to work autonomously, well organized, with a good attention to detail and set high standards for quality.
  • As you will work in cross functional teams, strong communication and reporting skills are required.You are a team player with a strong drive to share your experience and knowledge with colleagues. You strive to document and report your work to highest quality standards.
  • You are an enthusiastic and motivated team player with good communication and reporting skills.
  • Given the international character of imec, fluency in English is a must.
