Imec, a world-leading nanoelectronics and digital technologies research hub, seeks a Process Assistant for its Metrology team in Leuven, Belgium. You will work hands-on with semiconductor machines in a 24/7 cleanroom, keeping tools running, improving processes, and ensuring smooth operations across production, process development, and device teams.

You will collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve issues quickly, set up and optimize tool recipes, and dive into data to drive

Qualificações

  • Bachelor-level qualification in a relevant technical field or similar industrial experience.

Responsabilidades

  • Keep the fab running and ensure operations are continuous.
  • Ensure inspection and metrology tools are ready daily.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to fix issues quickly.
  • Identify problems early and take preventive action.
  • Improve workflows and make processes smarter.
  • Work with high-tech tools and recipes.
  • Set up, adjust, and optimize tool recipes.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and inconsistencies.
  • Support testing, calibration, and quality checks.
  • Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Foster teamwork and learning across the shift.
  • Coordinate with operators, engineers, and First Line Support daily.
  • Learn on the job and build real technical expertise.
  • Share knowledge and onboard new colleagues.

As a Process Assistant in the Metrology team, you’ll work hands‑on with cutting‑edge semiconductor machines inside imec’s cleanroom. You’ll help keep our tools running, improve processes, and make sure everything runs smoothly in a 24/7 high‑tech fab. Think: real impact, real tech, real learning. Imec drives semiconductor innovation by developing advanced device concepts and production methods for future electronics. Process assistants are essential across production, process development, and device teams.

! Important notice: our fab runs 24/7 and so will you! You are willing to work in a 24/7 system (early/late/nights differing per week, and 1 weekend out of 4)

Your responsibilities
  • Keep the fab running
  • Make sure inspection & metrology tools are ready to go every day
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to fix issues fast
  • Spot problems early and take action before they escalat[e]
  • Help improve how we work and make processes smarter
  • Work with high‑tech tools & recipes
  • Set up, adjust, and improve tool recipes (aka how the machines run)
  • Solve technical issues and inconsistencies
  • Support testing, calibration, and quality checks
  • Dive into data to see how things can be improved
  • Teamwork & learning
  • Team up with operators, engineers, and First Line Support on a daily basis
  • Learn on the job and build real technical expertise
  • Share knowledge and help new colleagues get started

Profile
  • You hold a bachelor in chemistry, Physics, Electronics, Electromechanics, or similar industrial experience
  • Eager to learn and self‑organized
