Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead the design, prototyping, and validation of agent-enabled discovery workflows across multiple use cases. Based in Beerse, Belgium, you will collaborate with chemists, data scientists, and platform engineers to translate scientific questions into actionable workflows that deliver measurable discovery value.

You will mentor scientists and engineers, set priorities for agentic prototypes, and drive adoption across discovery functions while

Qualifications

PhD or equivalent in cheminformatics or related field.
Deep understanding of design, predictive models, and discovery decision-making.
Strong Python and automated workflows experience.
Familiarity with CI/CD and testing practices.
Ability to mentor scientists and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

Lead the scientific design, prototyping, and validation of agent-enabled discovery workflows.
Partner with data science and platform engineering teams on AI architecture and production considerations.
Translate scientific requirements into reusable capabilities aligned with shared architectures.
Define robust use cases, datasets, and success criteria for evaluation.
Drive adoption of agentic capabilities across discovery functions.
