Cochlear invites applications for a Principal Research Software Engineer to lead a team across desktop, mobile, cloud, and connected-device environments. You will drive architectural direction for research platforms enabling digital-health innovations in cochlear implant aftercare.
You will mentor engineers, guide architecture, and stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, and reviews while collaborating with researchers, clinicians, data scientists, and product teams globally.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field; recognition for degrees from outside Belgium may be required.
- Experience combining leadership with hands-on software development in complex systems.
- Strong object-oriented software design capabilities.
- Experience with C#/.NET and/or Swift.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Responsabilités
- Provide technical leadership and architecture governance for research platforms.
- Lead a small team of Research Software Engineers and mentor engineers.
- Ensure software quality, design controls, and integration readiness.
- Contribute hands-on during prototyping, reviews, and problem solving.
