Cochlear Limited is seeking a Principal Research Software Engineer to lead a team developing investigational device software and research tools across desktop, mobile, cloud, and connected devices. You will collaborate with researchers, clinicians, data scientists, and product teams to mature concepts into scalable solutions for remote aftercare and digital health.

You will contribute technically through architecture, mentoring, and hands‑on coding, while shaping direction and ensuring quality,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in software engineering, CS, or related field.
• Experience leading hands‑on software development in complex systems.
• Strong OO design, and architectures in multi‑layer software.
• Proven ability to translate research needs into technical designs.

Responsabilités

• Define and evolve the technical vision for research software platforms.
• Lead architecture decisions, technology selection, and governance.
• Hands‑on coding, reviews, prototyping, and problem solving.
• Guide teams through trade‑offs, risk, and delivery excellence.
