To strengthen our local capabilities, we are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer with Cybersecurity expertise who will act as the technical bridge between Business Development and Delivery, supporting complex bids and engaging directly with institutional clients.
Job Description
We are looking for a Cybersecurity Solutions Specialist with pre-sales experience, capable of engaging clients, understanding complex IT and security environments, and translating needs into structured technical solutions for bids and proposals.
The position is primarily technical, with a strong customer-facing component (approx. 60% technical / 40% client interaction), and is not suited for purely commercial profiles or highly specialized engineers with limited exposure to client interaction.
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will support the full pre-sales lifecycle, from understanding customer needs to designing high-level solution approaches and contributing to competitive bids and proposals.
You will
- Act as a technical point of reference during client engagements, supporting Business Development in positioning cybersecurity solutions and services;
- Conduct technical presentations, demos, workshops, co-design sessions, and in-depth discussions with technical and business stakeholders;
- Manage technical interactions with EU institutions, NATO, and Space stakeholders;
- Gather and analyse customer requirements and operational scenarios, translating them into structured and realistic technical solution approaches;
- Participate in responses to RFIs, RFQs, and public tenders, contributing to and shaping the technical sections of proposals;
- Design high-level cybersecurity architectures and solution concepts across different security domains;
- Prepare technical documentation, solution outlines, BOMs, and high-level architectures;
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Delivery, Engineering, and Architecture teams to shape solutions and offers;
- Monitor market trends and contribute to the evolution of the Cyber & Security portfolio.
Profile
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Proposal Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Consultant, or similar technical/customer-facing role;
- Background in Cybersecurity architectures, security solutions, or security infrastructure;
- Experience contributing to technical proposals, bids/tender responses, or similar activities.
Education & Certifications
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Engineering) or equivalent professional experience;
- Certifications in Cybersecurity, security architecture, risk management, or related domains are considered a plus.

- Good understanding of major technologies, vendors, and solution approaches within the Cybersecurity ecosystem;
- Experience designing high-level security architectures and solution concepts;
- Understanding of cybersecurity domains such as Identity & Access Management, Zero Trust, Network & Infrastructure Security, Security Operations, Endpoint Security, and Security Architecture;
- Strong technical writing skills in English, particularly for technical proposals and documentation;
- Ability to present and explain cybersecurity solutions to both technical and business audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience working with EU Institutions, NATO, Space organizations, or other highly regulated environments;
- Familiarity with cybersecurity and security governance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or equivalent;
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering or Enterprise Architecture principles;
- Experience contributing to solutions or proposals involving classified, sensitive, or mission-critical environments;
- Exposure to adjacent areas such as Cloud Security, DevSecOps, automation, or AI-related security topics.
Other Requirements
- Availability for national and international travel (30–40%);
- Eligible to obtain EU / ESA / NATO security clearance;
- Comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment.
