Job summary

Elia Grid International (EGI) is expanding its Power System Operations and Security team to support deep RES integration and secure transmission networks. You will work on international projects, focusing on balancing markets, system operation, and advanced stability analyses, leveraging PowerFactory and PSSE tools.

The role offers a permanent or freelance path in a dynamic, globally oriented environment with strong professional development opportunities and travel to diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or Applied Mathematics/Physics.
• 2-10 years of experience in Power System Operations and Security including RES integration.
• Knowledge of power system simulation tools (PowerFactory, PSSE).
• Ability to translate complex data into strategic insights.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German/Dutch/French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and define operational principles for grid operations.
• Define and validate models; conduct steady-state and dynamic stability analyses.
• Assess Grid Code requirements and connection compliance studies.
• Interact with managers to tailor responsibilities to expertise.

Your function

EGI wishes to reinforce its team working onPower System Operations and Securityin the context of deep integration of renewable energy sources, Energy and Balancing Market Integration. To achieve this, we are looking forexperienced professionals with expertise in the field of transmission system operation. These experts will take part in local and international projects focusing on RES integration, security of supply, sustainability and economic efficiency of Power Systems.

Typical activities involve (but are not limited to):

• Analysis and definition of operational principles;
• Model definition and validation;
• Steady-state (load flow, short circuit calculations etc);
• Dynamic stability analysis (frequency, voltage stability..);
• Grid Code requirement and connection compliance studies

Your responsibilities will be decided based on your competencies and expertise and will be discussed during your interviews with managers.

Your profile

• Master's degree in Engineering or Applied Mathematics/Physics;
• 2-10 years of experience in Power System Operations and Security (balancing and RES system integration, system operation and state-of-the-art technological solutions);
• Knowledge of power system simulation tools (PowerFactory, PSSE);
• Expertise in translating complex data into key strategic insights and valuable actions;
• Fluent in English;
• Knowledge of German, Dutch and/or French is a strong asset.

Location

Brussels- Mobility required: 30% worldwide (willingness to travel abroad for international assignments depending on the business development or project needs).
