Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Research & Development seeks a Postdoctoral Scientist in Multimodal AI for Biomedical Discovery to advance AI/ML-enabled drug discovery.

The role sits at the intersection of machine learning, computational biology, and scientific AI, building systems that integrate imaging, transcriptomics, proteomics, molecular structures, and literature to generate actionable insights for target discovery and drug development.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, foundation modeling, or related areas.
• Hands-on experience with Python and modern AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face).
• Working knowledge of biology, disease biology, or drug discovery with ability to connect computational findings to biological interpretation.
• Experience analyzing biomedical modalities such as transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging, or omics data.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex results.

Responsabilités

• Develop and evaluate multimodal AI/ML methods for diverse biological data.
• Design approaches to generate biologically meaningful hypotheses and support experimental design.
• Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and data scientists to translate questions into scalable AI solutions.
• Create workflows that integrate heterogeneous evidence sources for rigorous decision-making.
• Contribute to reusable AI platforms and data foundations for enterprise-scale biomedical AI.
• Develop benchmarks, baselines, and evaluate model generalizability and biological relevance.
• Lead end-to-end research activities including study design, coding, and documentation.
• Disseminate findings through publications in AI, computational biology and bioinformatics venues.
