The University of Antwerp offers a full-time doctoral scholarship in resilient communications for future 6G networks. The PhD work focuses on energy optimization in cellular base stations, modeling energy use across components, and exploring renewable sources to extend network lifetime.

Research will be conducted in IDLab-UAntwerp (imec/UA) with access to advanced labs, an AI compute cluster, and a 6G Perceptive Radio Lab.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field by start date.
  • Excellent study results (distinction or great distinction).
  • Strong knowledge of wireless communications and signal processing.
  • Programming skills in C/C++, Python, and/or Matlab.

Responsabilités

  • Conduct high-quality research under supervision of Prof. Jeroen Famaey as part of IDLab-UAntwerp/imec.
  • Collaborate with researchers at IDLab-UAntwerp.
  • Publish results in major conferences/journals in wireless communications, signal processing and embedded computing.
  • Assist in teaching lab sessions (up to 10% of time).
