constellr GmbH is seeking a software engineer to build, maintain and operationalize onboard payload software for its growing constellation. You will help move flight software from commissioning to routine in-orbit operations, collaborating across engineering, product assurance, project management, and external suppliers.

The role demands hands-on work with high reliability, safety-critical systems, and a strong foundation in embedded software, Python, Git, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering, software engineering, CS, or related field.
• 4+ years of software development or assurance experience, ideally in aerospace.
• Experience with embedded software development.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and lifecycle tools.
• Experience with testing frameworks, tools, and CI/CD processes.
• Proficiency in Python and Git.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and maintain high-reliability onboard payload software in flight-ready condition.
• Support payload commissioning and on-orbit activities for new satellites.
• Ensure onboard software performs reliably in flight and integrates with hardware.
• Provide feedback to software requirements and design across onboard systems.
• Contribute to onboard software architecture evolution and validation environments.
• Participate in FDIR strategy implementation for resilience and autonomy.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure software runs on payload hardware.
• Deliver new software features and upgrades with external partners.
