UCLouvain seeks to recruit a part-time academic in Sign Language Translation and Interpreting (LSFB) at 50% FTE. The role combines teaching the Bachelor’s program in Sign Language Translation and Interpreting with leading research within IRIS-L and the TranSphères center.

Responsibilities include supervising doctoral theses, coordinating the Sign Language unit, and contributing to program committees and community outreach at the Saint-Louis-Brussels campus.

Qualifications

• PhD in Languages, Literature, or Translation Studies with specialization in sign language.
• Mastery of Belgian French Sign Language (LSFB) and excellent command of French.
• Proven pedagogical skills.

Responsabilités

• Teach the Bachelor’s program in Sign Language Translation and Interpreting.
• Develop research activities within the IRIS-L Institute and TranSphères research center, supervising theses.
• Coordinate the Sign Language unit and participate in program committees and outreach.
