Job summary

WLG is seeking a senior functional consultant for third‑line support of Oracle E‑Business Suite across Financials and Purchasing. You will handle complex incidents, analyze requests, design functional changes and ensure thorough testing before release.

You will train users, build knowledge resources, and coordinate with teams in daily stand‑ups to keep the ledger balanced across a multinational organisation.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 Financials and Purchasing.
• Solid grasp of E-Business Tax, Purchasing and Fixed Assets flows and what they do to the General Ledger.
• Month-end and year-end close, reconciliation, consolidation and bank reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Resolve second and third line incidents on Oracle EBS Financials and Purchasing, keeping tickets accurate within SLAs.
• Analyse new requirements and write functional design and documentation.
• Estimate effort for changes and ensure end-to-end testing before user acceptance.
• Escalate hard cases to vendor or other teams and follow up until resolved.
• Build the knowledge base, train users on best practices and run briefings.
• Collaborate with the wider team in daily stand-ups and planning sessions.

The finance system closes the month. You are the reason it closes cleanly.
A multinational defence organisation runs its finance, purchasing and travel processes on Oracle E-Business Suite, and its service team needs a senior functional consultant at third line - someone who understands both the setups and the accounting behind them, and who users trust when a ledger refuses to balance.
What You Would Be Doing

• Resolving second and third line incidents and service requests on the Oracle EBS Financials and Purchasing applications, and keeping every ticket accurate and within service levels
• Analysing new requirements and change requests, then writing the functional design and the documentation that goes with them
• Estimating effort for changes and making sure each one is properly tested end to end before users see it for acceptance
• Escalating the hard cases to the vendor or other teams and staying on them until users are satisfied
• Building up the knowledge base, training users on good practice and running the occasional briefing
• Working alongside the wider team in daily stand‑ups and planning sessions
  

What you would bring

• Deep hands‑on knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 Financials and Purchasing: General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Cash Management and Sub‑Ledger Accounting
• Solid grasp of E-Business Tax, Purchasing and Fixed Assets flows and what they do to the General Ledger
• Budgetary control, encumbrance and accrual accounting, ideally in a public sector setting
• Month‑end and year‑end close, reconciliation, consolidation, revaluation, bank reconciliation and electronic payment formats
• Finance approval workflows, travel claim processes and the reporting that sits on top of it all
• Experience of L2/L3 support, basic SQL, configuration management and ITIL 4 with BMC Remedy
• Sustained recent assignments in this space and full professional English
