Mobilexpense is seeking an Operations Engineer to help keep our SaaS platform reliable, secure, and scalable. You will work with Cloud, DevOps, and Security teams to support our on-prem production environment and collaborate with our hosting provider.

The role suits someone with 1–3 years in systems or infrastructure, eager to grow into broader operational responsibilities, with coaching and increasing ownership over time.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Windows Server environments.
• Familiarity with IIS and Microsoft server technologies.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.
• Basic PowerShell scripting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• 01-03 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure operations or technical operations.

Responsabilités

• Monitor the health and availability of the production platform.
• Investigate infrastructure and platform alerts and coordinate incident resolution.
• Perform operational health checks and routine maintenance tasks.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
• Coordinate with hosting provider for incidents, maintenance windows and changes.

As an Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of our production platform.

Working alongside our Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Security team, and external hosting provider, you will become a key contributor to the day-to-day operations of our on-prem production environment.

This role is ideal for someone with an initial experience in systems or infrastructure who wants to grow into a highly autonomous operations engineer. You'll receive coaching and progressively take ownership of increasingly complex operational responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Monitor the health and availability of our production platform.

• Investigate infrastructure and platform alerts.

• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate incident resolution.

• Perform operational health checks and routine maintenance activities.

• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.

Hosting Provider Coordination

• Act as the day-to-day technical contact for our managed hosting provider.

• Coordinate incidents, maintenance windows and infrastructure changes.

• Follow up on operational requests until completion.

• Ensure operational procedures are properly executed.

Platform Reliability

• Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).

• Implement corrective actions following incidents.

• Identify recurring issues and propose permanent improvements.

• Contribute to improving the reliability and resilience of the production platform.

Infrastructure Lifecycle

• Participate in operating system upgrades and migration projects.

• Coordinate infrastructure lifecycle activities with our hosting provider.

• Implement infrastructure hardening recommendations in collaboration with the Security team.

• Keep technical documentation and operational procedures up to date.

SQL Server Operations

• Assist in the operational management of our SQL Server environment.

• Investigate SQL Server logs and performance issues during incident resolution.

• Support database maintenance and operational activities.

• Contribute to troubleshooting database-related production incidents.

• Develop a solid understanding of SQL Server administration and high-availability concepts.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation tools.

• Eliminate repetitive manual operational tasks.

• Improve operational processes and tooling.

• Contribute to standardizing operational procedures.

• Continuously look for opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.

Security & Compliance

• Perform operational activities within our regulated production environment.

• Follow documented security and operational procedures.

• Support security remediation and hardening activities.

• Contribute to maintaining operational documentation.

• Gradually learn the operational processes supporting our PCI DSS environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure operations or technical operations.

• Good understanding of Windows Server administration.

• Basic knowledge of IIS and Microsoft server technologies.

• Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.

• Basic PowerShell scripting skills.

• Experience troubleshooting technical issues.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience writing SQL queries and reading SQL Server logs.

• Knowledge of SQL Server administration concepts (backups, maintenance, permissions, Always On, performance troubleshooting).

• Experience working with managed hosting providers.

• Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management.

• Exposure to PCI DSS or other security/compliance frameworks.

• Experience in a SaaS or production environment.
