Umicore Belgium is seeking an Operational Excellence Professional to lead and implement improvement initiatives across operations. You will analyze performance, apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and partner with teams to drive measurable gains in efficiency and reliability.

You will translate data and observations into practical actions, pursue continuous improvement, and build capability through training and coaching across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, Applied/Industrial Sciences, or related field.
• Experience in an operational or industrial environment – preferably metallurgical context.
• Good understanding of Operational Excellence frameworks: Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement.
• Experience with process mapping, KPI follow-up, and structured problem solving.

Responsabilités

• Analyze operational/performance within defined processes or departments to identify trends and improvements.
• Apply operational excellence methodologies to solve problems and drive improvements.
• Support development and use of KPIs for monitoring local process performance.
• Translate analyses into practical actions and support implementation by operations teams.
• Facilitate continuous improvement activities such as workshops, PDCA boards, and root cause analyses.
• Manage improvement projects with defined scope and local impact.
• Support deployment of Continuous Improvement initiatives and programs.
• Deliver training and contribute to capability building within the organization.
