Umicore is seeking an Operational Excellence Professional to drive Lean and data-driven improvements across processes and departments. You will translate data into practical actions, support problem solving, and embed improvements in day-to-day operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You hold a master’s in engineering and have experience in an operational environment, ideally metallurgical. Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a strong asset.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in operational/industrial environment, preferably metallurgical.
• Strong understanding of Operational Excellence frameworks and tools (Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience with process mapping, KPI follow-up, and structured problem solving.
• Ability to analyze data and translate observations into practical actions.
• Solid analytical skills with teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong asset.

Responsabilités

• Analyze operating and process performance to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Apply Operational Excellence methodologies to solve problems and support improvements.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for local processes.
• Translate analysis into actionable improvement actions and support implementation.
• Facilitate continuous improvement activities (workshops, PDCA boards, root-cause analysis).
• Manage improvement projects within defined scope and local impact.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives and programs.
• Deliver training and contribute to capability building within the organization.
