Job summary

MindCapture is seeking a Lab Responsible to oversee Quality Control and Process Development activities on site in Ghent. You will ensure compliant documentation, manage lab procedures, calibrations and stock, and collaborate with QC and development teams to optimise analytical workflows.

The role combines administrative oversight with hands-on laboratory support, offering a stable environment and opportunities to contribute to patient-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in a laboratory environment.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory operations, procedures and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to critically review scientific documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Structured, organized approach to task management in a lab setting.
• Experience with regulated quality systems (cGMP) is a plus.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Documentation Management: Maintain and update laboratory procedures within the document management system in collaboration with the responsible development manager.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of chemicals, laboratory materials and consumables to ensure the continuous availability of essential supplies.
• Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Monitor preventive maintenance and calibration activities for laboratory equipment, including balances, incubators and pipettes.
• Internal Equipment Testing: Perform internal preventive maintenance and calibration checks when required, ensuring accurate completion of associated documentation.
• Laboratory Preparation: Prepare culture media and basic laboratory solutions while maintaining complete and accurate preparation records.
• Documentation Review: Review development records and associated study documentation prepared by colleagues, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable procedures.
• Incoming Goods Inspection: Perform incoming goods inspections for the GMP Quality Control laboratory and ensure proper registration of ordered materials.
• Quality Compliance: Support the implementation and maintenance of laboratory quality procedures, contributing to compliance with applicable quality standards.
• Cross Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Control and Process Development management to coordinate activities, address operational needs and support laboratory efficiency.
