Exail in Ostend is seeking an engineering intern to standardise the calibration workflow for the magnetic compass on our drone platforms. You will analyse calibration methods, perform on-site tests with drones and sensor modules, and help define validation metrics for reliable navigation.

You will join the Industrialisation and Systems Engineering Department for at least three months, contribute on-site in Ostend, and document procedures for manufacturing, field ops, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics or Computer Engineering.
• Understanding of IMU sensors and magnetometers.
• Familiarity with embedded systems.
• Experience with Python, C/C++ or MATLAB for data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and document work clearly.

Responsabilités

• Analyse calibration methods and identify sources of drift or inconsistency.
• Conduct practical calibration experiments on drones, sensors and testbenches.
• Develop testing procedures and validation metrics for calibration accuracy.
• Design a standardised calibration workflow for manufacturing and field ops.
• Document guidelines and operator instructions clearly.
