Jan De Nul is seeking an Offshore Trenching Engineer to combine geological expertise with data analysis in planning and optimizing trenching operations for offshore projects worldwide. You will contribute in both preparation and execution phases, with site and vessel visits to boost productivity.

You will analyze seabed data, advise on trenching techniques and equipment, define productivity expectations, assess risks, and prepare Burial Assessment Studies for tenders and projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in geology, geotechnics, or an engineering discipline with soil mechanics.
• Interest in trenching operations, subsea cable installation and offshore energy.
• Analytical, structured and accurate work style with attention to detail and handling large datasets.
• Experience with Python/Power BI/Excel or VBA is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Analyze seabed data (geophysical and geotechnical) and project constraints to prepare clear reports.
• Advise on trenching techniques and equipment and define realistic productivity expectations.
• Prepare Burial Assessment Studies for tenders and projects and document geological information and risks.
• Monitor trenching progress during execution and provide recommendations to improve productivity, quality and performance.
• Develop dashboards, scripts and analytical tools for seabed interpretation and trenching performance.
