Job summary

ATG Europe is seeking a Nuclear Safety Coordinator for our client in Mol, Belgium. The role focuses on industrial safety for an SMR project, requiring on-site presence and active participation in risk analyses and safety documentation.

You will draft safety philosophy, map hazards, and coordinate with licensing and health physics teams, ensuring compliance with Belgian regulations and international standards. Fluency in English is expected; on-site work for 5 of 10 days applies.

Qualifications

• MSc in Engineering, with focus on safety or nuclear-related fields.
• Proven experience in industrial risk analysis for hazardous installations.
• Familiarity with Belgian environment, health and safety regulations.
• Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, and FMEA processes.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
• Security clearance eligibility and willingness to work on-site in Mol.

Responsibilities

• Draft the SMR-LFR safety initiation document with milestones and resources.
• Develop an approach for industrial and environmental safety and risk analysis in consultation with licensing teams.
• Define a preliminary strategy for SMR CE self-declaration with licensing and Health Physics teams.
• Lead risk analysis sessions (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA) and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Review design documentation for hazard minimization and compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure on-site presence in Mol for required days and maintain regulatory records.
