Brussels Airlines is seeking a Head of Crew Training (NPCT/HT) to lead the organization responsible for Cockpit and Cabin Crew training and related operational personnel. You will ensure compliance with the EASA framework, national regulations, and BCAA requirements while managing training programs, records, and governance.

The role requires extensive aviation training leadership, strong supplier and stakeholder management, and the ability to drive standardization across the group’s training

Qualifications

Your Tasks

• Combined function

In the Brussels Airlines organisational organigram, the NPCT and HT is a combined function referred to as the Head of Crew Training.

• Nominated Person Crew Training - NPCT

The Nominated Person Crew Training (NPCT) is the Head of Crew Training Department and is responsible for the management and supervision of the crew member training area.

The NPCT shall be introduced to the BCAA by the AM or the CMM.

The NPCT’s responsibility is to ensure that all activities within the Crew Training Department are conducted in accordance with conditions and restrictions of the Air Operator Certificate and remain in compliance with the applicable requirements. As such, within his responsibilities as NPCT, The NPCT acts independently when making decisions.

The NPCT reports directly to the NPFO.

• Head of Training - HT

The Head of Training manages and supervises the progress and completion of training within the ATO.

The HT shall be introduced to the BCAA by the AM or the CMM.

The HT is subordinated to and reports to the NPFO.

For the position of NPCT, you should bring the following qualifications and experience :

• General
• Promotes corporate culture of safety and compliance;
• Keeps contact and deals with authorities, aviation bodies and manufacturers for all training related matters;
• Monitors subcontracted training activities and training material used from external organizations;
• Ensures that any person authorized by the BCAA has access to facilities, documents and records which are related to flight operations or any relevant activity; and produce all such documents and records, when requested to do so by the BCAA, within a reasonable period of time;
• Participates in LHG training meetings related to group standardization, defining group training standards;
• Ensures satisfactory integration of flight training in an aircraft, training in a flight simulation training device (FSTD) and the theoretical knowledge instruction;
• Develops, implements and improves the training programme, syllabi and session plans, including training publications, documents and records;
• Supervises the student’s overall progress and completion of training;
• Assures the appropriate use of infrastructure, training facilities, equipment and tools;
• Is responsible for the processing, storing and filing of all documents and records according to the provisions of the management system;
• Records and analyses any occurrences and deviations from the standards and ensures corrective and preventive action within the organization;
• Conducts effective root cause analysis to identify the cause of a breakdown in an organizational system, which has resulted in an undesired event to ensure that re-occurrence of the same or similar events or findings are minimized;
• Nominated Person Crew Training – NPCT specific

The NPCT is responsible for the management of all training & checking activities for Cockpit (FCM) and Cabin Crew (CCM) and for operations personnel other than crew members (e.g. flight operation officers,..);

• Ensures that training programs are clearly defined in the OM Part D / CCITO and BCAA approved;
• Defines the standards for training of Flight and Cabin Crew in the Training Manual (OM Part D, CCITO Manual) and ensures that they are fulfilled, including subcontracted training activities;
• Ensures compliance of OM Part D, CCITO manual with applicable regulations;
• Updates OM Part D, CCITO manual to stay in compliance with applicable regulations;
• Ensures that training syllabi & programs for Flight Crew and Cabin Crew Members are in compliance with the applicable manuals;
• Liaises with the Nominated Person Flight Operations, for all flight and cabin crew training;
• Develops and updates processes for the selection of internal promotions for FCM & CCM trainer positions;
• Acts as a deputy, in the social dialogue with the pilot unions by participating in meetings with FCM union delegation when required;
• Is responsible towards the Authorities for compliance with all EASA and National Regulations related to the Cabin Crew Initial Training;
• Signs and delivers the Cabin Crew Attestations;
• Selects and nominates subordinates;
• Defines action to be taken if subordinates do not achieve or maintain the required standards of performance and/or associated behaviour;
• Defines disciplinary actions in case of trainee’s inadmissible behaviour;
• Has the authority to implement corrective action within his department.
• Head of Training – HT specific

The Head of Training manages and supervises the progress and completion of training within the organization. The Head of Training is subordinated to and reports to the Accountable Manager. The duties and responsibilities shall include that the Head of Training:

• Ensures that the training is in compliance with the appropriate requirements, mainly Part-FCL, and internal requirements;
• Ensures the correct and appropriate content of the organization’s documentation in the area of the ATO;
• Represents the ATO and liaises with BCAA regarding administration and coordination;
• Manages and plans continuous education and career development of his subordinates.

The Head of Crew Training or his/her deputy shall have at least the following competences:

• Shall hold or have held in the 3 years prior to first appointment as NPCT, a professional pilot license and associated ratings or class rating issue in accordance with Part-FCL, related to the flight training courses provided;
• Shall hold or have held in the 3 years prior to first appointment as HT, a professional pilot license and associated ratings or class rating issue in accordance with Part-FCL, related to the flight training courses provided;
• Shall be a current type rating instructor on a type/class operated under the AOC;
• Shall have extensive experience in training as an instructor for professional pilot licences and associated ratings or certificates;
• Shall have a thorough knowledge of the AOC holder’s crew training concept for flight, cabin and when relevant other crew;
• Shall have extensive experience as an instructor in the areas relevant for the operator’s training programs, and knowledgeable about EBT;
• Shall possess sound managerial capability to ensure that the training provided is in compliance with the applicable requirements and the satisfactory integration for flight training, simulated flight training and the ground instruction.
