Alstom is seeking a Project ATC Leader to deliver the ATC sub-system, ensuring compliance with customer QCD commitments and acting as the main engineering interface with the customer. The role requires leading cross-functional teams across ATC trackside and trainborne domains.

The successful candidate will define functional and architecture specifications, ATC detailed designs, and configurations, while ensuring consistency of the technical design and supporting validation activities per project

Qualifications

• Experience in ATC systems (trackside and/or trainborne).
• Graduated in Software, Electrical, Electronic, Automation or Telecommunication Engineering.
• Desirable: Railways domain or embedded system specialization.

Responsabilités

• Deliver the ATC sub-system per customer QCD commitments.
• Direct technical interface with the customer for ATC engineering.
• Provide ATC functional and architecture specification, design and configuration; supports corrections until customer acceptance.
• Ensure that technical design is consistent across interfaces.
• Contribute to functional validation phase (IV&V and FIVP).
• Follow ATC methods and tools; report progress and variances to PrEM.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The train movements are controlled by ATC System in a safe way. The Trackside ATC is responsible to send to Trainborne ATC the track conditions that allow entering in a given segment. Those conditions could be: point machines at right position, track clear, speed restriction, route set, etc. The Trainborne ATC compares the information received from Trackside ATC against train actual conditions (speed, position, track, direction) and can restrict its movement if there is any risk to go over a safe limit.

The Project ATC Leader is responsible to deliver the ATC sub-system approved by the customer, respecting the project QCD, during the project life cycle.

Main Responsabilities

• Key accountabilities:
• ATC System includes both trackside and trainborne. Project ATC Leader main responsibilities are:
• Accountable to deliver ATC QCD commitments
• He/she is the direct technical interface with the customer for ATC Engineering
• Provides ATC functional and architecture specification, ATC detailed design and ATC configuration. Provides corrections during and until customer acceptance
• Provides Signalling – Rolling Stock interface specification, until mutual agreement from both engineering entities
• Make sure technical design is consistent
• Contribute to the definition of the functional validation phase of the sub-system (I&V and FIVP)
• Ensure that all Domain / Métier activities follow ATC methods & tools
• Support PrEM to ensure full transparency of ATC Engineering WP QCD performance (including physical progress)
• Follow the monthly review cycle with PrEM, highlighting main variances against the Project Engineering QCD commitment, initiating corrective actions and immediately informing the PrEM and Projects Engineering Domain /
• Métier department head where major deviations are detected.
• Follow and participate in Risk and Savings Reviews for his / her scope. Provide inputs to PrEM to update the RAMP and SAMP of the Project.
• If the ATC scope changes (due to either internal or external changes), support PrEM in Project Engineering QCD commitment variations with the Project Controller
• Make communication with customer and ensure ATC documentation is approved

Performance measurements

• Project QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) commitment
• On-time-delivery for ATC deliverables according to project planning and DML (EDP - Engineering Delivery Performance)
• Defect detected on ATC (DQI - Delivery Quality Indicator)
• Cooperation and reactivity to support to Root Cause Analysis Identification of contract variations (through traceability & coverage of requirements)

Main Required Competences

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

• Graduated in Software, Electrical, Electronic, Automation or Telecommunication Engineering

Desirable:

• Railways domain or embedded system specialization

Experience

Mandatory:

• Experience in ATC systems (trackside and/or trainborne)

Desirable:

• Rolling stock systems (general overview)
• Train interface, if applicable
• ATO tuning basics, if applicable
• Signaling (System, Interlocking or ATS)
