UCB in Belgium is seeking a Network Security Lead to own the design, delivery and operations of our enterprise and manufacturing network security. You will act as the technical authority to keep environments secure, compliant and ready for inspections in a regulated pharmaceutical setting.

You will shape the network security architecture, lead security aspects of projects, and set directions on emerging technologies while challenging designs and ensuring end-to-end impact is understood.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in network security engineering with technical leadership.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Palo Alto Networks technologies, including Secure Service Edge (SSE).
• Practical experience with cloud-delivered security services.
• Experience with load balancing and reverse proxy technologies.
• Experience working in GxP environments is a plus.
• Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.

• Lead the security dimension of network projects, covering firewall and segmentation initiatives, secure remote access, and cloud-delivered security services.
• Own the operational security performance of our network security services, driving quality, standards and continuous improvement with our external service providers.
• Act as expert escalation point for critical security incidents, working alongside process owners on incident, problem, vulnerability and change management.
• Maintain security standards, policies and procedures for firewalling, access and segmentation, and support audits and inspections with clear evidence and documentation.
• Serve as the reference point on network security technologies and trends, guiding technical decisions together with our architects.

We are looking for a Network Security Lead who is curious, collaborative and forward-thinking to join us in our Digital Technology team, based in ouroffice in Braine, in Belgium.

About The Role

You will own the design, delivery and operational security of our enterprise and manufacturing network environments. Acting as the technical authority for network security, you will make sure our environments stay secure, compliant, resilient and ready for inspection in a highly regulated pharmaceutical setting. You will shape the network security architecture, lead the security dimension of network projects, and set the direction on emerging technologies and trends. You will not be configuring systems day to day, but you will bring enough technical depth to challenge designs, anticipate end-to-end impact, and flag early when something is heading in the wrong direction.

Who You'll Work With

You will be working in a team that keeps UCB's global network and security landscape running and evolving. You will partner closely with the Network Lead, security teams, architects and infrastructure colleagues to keep security and architecture aligned. You will also govern external service providers who handle day-to-day operations, holding them to our technical, quality and compliance standards. You will be a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders, and you will step in to coordinate during major security incidents.
