Harvey Nash is seeking a freelance Network Designer/Architect for Brussels to define and manage Juniper/Cisco based hub-and-spoke architecture. You will act as design authority and ensure security, resilience, and operational integrity across the customer access network.

Regular on-site work in Belgium is required to support testing and implementation activities, with 2 days per week onsite. This role requires collaboration with architects, engineers, and external partners to drive technology

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Juniper SRX and Cisco Routing & Switching.
• Ability to act as design authority for a customer access network and manage lifecycle projects.
• Regular on-site presence in Belgium, specifically Brussels, BE, to support testing and implementation.

For our international client in the Brussels are we are looking for a freelance Network Designer/Architect with strong Juniper SRX and Cisco Routing & Switching experience. 2 days per week onsite presence will be required.

This position serves as the design authority for our customer access network. Together with peer designers the new person is responsible for defining and managing the hardware and software lifecycle projects of the Juniper and Cisco based Hub-and-Spoke network architecture, while ensuring the continued security, resilience, and operational integrity of this customer access network.

Due to the specific characteristics of the Belgium (BE) testbed infrastructure, regular on-site presence in Belgium is required to support testing, validation, and implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and evolution of network architecture and technology solutions by participating in strategic evaluations of new technologies, products, and design improvements. Collaborate closely with architects, engineering teams, business stakeholders, customers, management, and external technology partners.
• Provide expert technical guidance during solution design and implementation activities, ensuring that designs meet technical, operational, and security requirements and adhere to established standards.
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex operational network issues, supporting operational teams in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network and infrastructure incidents.
• Work closely with technology vendors and cybersecurity teams to assess and address network security vulnerabilities. Define and implement appropriate remediation actions, including software updates, security patches, and configuration improvements.
• Participate in cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert, providing specialist knowledge and leading design reviews for initiatives of small to medium complexity and risk.
• Engage with customers, industry partners, and technology suppliers to review solution designs, share expertise, and maintain awareness of emerging technologies, best practices, and market developments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry developments to support continuous improvement and long-term technology strategy.
