V-IT NV is seeking a Network Designer/Architect to lead the design and lifecycle management of a Hub-and-Spoke network based on Juniper and Cisco hardware and software. Regular on-site presence in Waals-Brabant is required for testing, validation, and implementation activities.

The role requires strong experience in network architecture, security, and operations, with hands-on work across design reviews, vendor collaboration, and cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to development and evolution of network architecture and technology solutions by evaluating new technologies, products, and design improvements. Collaborate with architects, engineering, business stakeholders, customers and partners.
• Provide expert technical guidance during solution design and implementation activities, ensuring designs meet technical, operational, and security requirements and standards.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex operational network issues, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents.
• Work with vendors and cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities; implement patches and configuration improvements.
• Lead design reviews for small to medium initiatives and provide SME knowledge across projects.
• Engage with customers, industry partners, and suppliers to review solution designs and stay current on new technologies and market developments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry developments to support long-term strategy.

Description:

This position serves as the design authority for the customer access network. The role involves defining and managing hardware and software lifecycle projects of the Juniper and Cisco-based Hub-and-Spoke network architecture, ensuring continued security, resilience, and operational integrity. Regular on-site presence is required to support testing, validation, and implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and evolution of network architecture and technology solutions by participating in strategic evaluations of new technologies, products, and design improvements. Collaborate closely with architects, engineering teams, business stakeholders, customers, management, and external technology partners.


• Provide expert technical guidance during solution design and implementation activities, ensuring that designs meet technical, operational, and security requirements and adhere to established standards.


• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex operational network issues, supporting operational teams in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network and infrastructure incidents.


• Work closely with technology vendors and cybersecurity teams to assess and address network security vulnerabilities. Define and implement appropriate remediation actions, including software updates, security patches, and configuration improvements.


• Participate in cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert, providing specialist knowledge and leading design reviews for initiatives of small to medium complexity and risk.


• Engage with customers, industry partners, and technology suppliers to review solution designs, share expertise, and maintain awareness of emerging technologies, best practices, and market developments.


• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry developments to support continuous improvement and long-term technology strategy.
