The role requires 5+ years .NET, 3+ years Azure, and hands-on experience with .NET Core Web APIs. Expect onsite work in Brussels two days per week, with English (C1) and Dutch or French (C2) proficiency.

Function

We're looking for a Senior .NET Developer to join our client's team and take ownership of designing and delivering high-quality, well-tested software solutions. You'll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to turn requirements and architectural concepts into reliable, maintainable applications. This is a hands-on role where independence, technical craftsmanship, and a strong sense of ownership are equally important.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver robust .NET solutions from concept through to production.
• Work closely with solution designers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Develop secure and performant .NET Core Web APIs and integrate backend services reliably.
• Apply Clean Code, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, design patterns, and other proven engineering practices.
• Develop meaningful and maintainable unit tests to ensure software quality.
• Work with Azure services, PaaS components, event-driven patterns, and cloud-native solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments using Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Design, query, and optimise relational databases using SQL.
• Collaborate effectively through Git and established version-control practices.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for assigned solutions while actively contributing to knowledge sharing and team collaboration.

Technical Profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with .NET development.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure Cloud development.
• 3+ years of experience developing .NET Core Web APIs.
• Strong understanding of the .NET ecosystem, including LINQ, async/await, security, data structures, and design patterns.
• Proven experience with Clean Code, Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles.
• Strong experience with unit testing and software quality practices.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational database design and optimisation.
• Strong Git and version-control experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a senior developer who combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, collaborative attitude. You work independently, take ownership of delivering complete solutions, and remain calm and constructive when dealing with complex challenges. You communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders and actively contribute to the wider team through collaboration and knowledge sharing. The role requires a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in Brussels. You are fluent in either Dutch or French at C2 level and in English at C1 level.
