NATO - North Atlantic Treaty Organisation's Science and Technology Organization (STO) seeks an Officer, Analysis – Military impact to identify and analyse S&T trends and deliver tailored reports on their military implications for NATO. You will prepare papers for the NATO leadership and coordinate with international staff to support strategic decisions.

Role requires advanced degree and 3+ years in defence policy or technical analysis, plus strong writing and briefing skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience in defence and security policy or operational analysis.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in science or technology, either at research or policy development level.
• Broad operational knowledge of military technology and defence capabilities.
• Demonstrated capacity for planning, analysis and the drafting of proposals and ideas.
• Working knowledge of office word processing, spreadsheet, graphics presentations and database software.

Responsabilités

• Identify and analyse Science & Technology trends continuously in order to contribute to STO Tech Trends reports.
• Deliver tailored reports on the military impact of technology trends to inform capability requirement setting.
• Cooperate closely with Strategic Commands and International Military Staff for the Military Committee and senior leadership.
• Draft papers and reports for a wide variety of stakeholders, including NATO officials and the North Atlantic Council.
• Collaborate with Officers, Analysis and supervise them for tasks related to military impact of technologies.
• Support the Head of Branch in liaison activity with the International Military Staff.

Formation

Advanced university degree, or national military equivalent, in a scientific, technical, engineering or mathematical discipline of interest to defence and/or security.
