Job summary

Combell is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. You will ensure optimal uptime, manage customer environments, and contribute to automation efforts across Linux-based systems. What will you do?

To help deliver and support our customised cloud and hosting solutions, we are looking for an additional colleague to join our SRE team. The team currently consists of around 17 colleagues.

The SRE team (Site Reliability Engineering) is responsible for operational customer support, as well as the platforms that make this possible. There is a strong focus on automation. Through your close monitoring and follow‑up, you ensure that our operational infrastructure functions optimally.

Depending on your experience and interests, you can work as a generalist or choose to specialise further. You will work across a wide range of technologies, including containers, automation and traditional hosting environments.

• Take responsibility for the optimal management and uptime of our server infrastructure, including setting up, managing and supporting customer environments.
• On the one hand, you will work on projects and the delivery of customer environments; on the other, you will provide in‑depth technical support to customers.
• Contribute to the further development of our automation platform.
• Act as the point of contact for customers with custom solutions environments (cloud, dedicated servers, firewalls, load balancers, etc.).
• Register and analyse issues and, through targeted questioning, gather as much additional information as possible. Based on this information, you provide a fast and customer‑focused solution. You ensure proper follow‑up and communication with the customer and contribute to continuously improving customer satisfaction.
• Develop solutions based on predefined requirements. Take responsibility for implementation, documentation and handover.
• Monitor and maintain the operational infrastructure (backups, patching, monitoring, servers going offline, maintenance, etc.).

• You like to take ownership and are proactive. You are able to work well under pressure and are flexible.

Wat ga je doen?

Om onze op maat gemaakte cloud/hosting oplossingen mee op te leveren en te ondersteunen zijn we op zoek naar een extra collega voor ons SRE-team. Dit team bestaat uit een 17-tal collega’s.

Bij het SRE-team (Site Reliability Engineering) draait alles rond de operationele klanten ondersteuning. Maar ook de platformen die dit mogelijk maken. Er ligt een sterke focus op automatisatie. Door je nauwgezette opvolging zorg je voor het optimaal functioneren van de operationele infrastructuur.

Afhankelijk van jouw ervaring en interesses kan je zowel generalistisch werken als je meer specialiseren. Dit binnen onze omgeving van containers, automatisatie, klassieke hosting,…

• Verantwoordelijk zijn voor het optimaal beheer en uptime van het serverpark. Zowel het opzetten, beheren als supporteren van de klantenomgevingen.
• Enerzijds werk je aan projecten en de oplevering van klantenomgevingen, anderzijds zal je ook technisch diepgaande ondersteuning bieden aan klanten.
• Instaan voor de verdere opbouw van ons automatisatie platform.
• Aanspreekpunt zijn voor klanten met een custom solutions omgeving (cloud, dedicated servers, firewalls, loadbalancers,…).
• Registreren van problemen en door je vraagstelling verzamel je zoveel mogelijk bijkomende informatie. Op basis daarvan bied je een snelle en klantgerichte oplossing voor het probleem. Je verzekert de opvolging en communicatie naar de klant en je werkt mee aan constante klantentevredenheid.
• Uitwerken van oplossingen op basis van de vooropgestelde requirements. Verantwoordelijk voor de implementatie, documentatie en overdracht.
• Opvolgen van de operationele infrastructuur (backups, patching, opvolging monitoring, servers offline, maintenance, …).
• Complexe issues behandelen en uitleg geven waar nodig.

• Je hebt meerdere jaren ervaring als System Engineer in een Linux omgeving. De Linux command line is jouw tweede thuis!
• Je bent sterk in communicatie, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.
• Je moedertaal is Nederlands en je spreekt vlot Engels. Een onberispelijke spelling is voor jou vanzelfsprekend.
• Je bent analytisch ingesteld, werkt nauwkeurig en resultaatsgericht.
