Job summary

Roche Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Affairs Manager in Belgium to act as a strategic catalyst shaping medical strategy and accelerating adoption of high-value diagnostics to impact patient lives. You will work across commercial, access, and marketing partners to drive evidence generation and cardiovascular, oncology, or other disease-area strategies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a medical, scientific, or life sciences discipline (PhD/ PharmD/ MD asset).
• Proven experience in Medical Affairs or strategic medical role with disease-area strategy or evidence-generation roadmaps.
• Solid understanding of clinical practice, patient journeys, and healthcare ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience facilitating clinical studies or research collaborations, and scientific communications with multidisciplinary teams.
• Growth mindset and strong stakeholder management to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Articulate communicator in English, Dutch, and French within Belgian healthcare landscape.

Responsibilities

• Define and own medical strategy for assigned disease areas, aligning affiliate initiatives and resources for patient benefit.
• Assess early-stage medical and diagnostic innovations to overcome barriers and address unmet healthcare needs.
• Spearhead clinical studies and real-world evidence initiatives with Key Opinion Leaders to fill gaps and shape guidelines.
• Translate scientific data into strategic actions and guide cross-functional dialogue.
• Partner with laboratory networks and healthcare systems to elevate standard of care.
• Cultivate trusted scientific partnerships with healthcare leaders, chair advisory boards, and educational programs.
• Collaborate with a high-autonomy, accountable, agile team.

The Position

As a Medical Affairs Manager at Roche Diagnostics, you act as a strategic catalyst and healthcare system shaper. Working in close synergy across commercial, access, and marketing partners, you shape clinical practice and accelerate the adoption of high-medical-value diagnostics to directly impact patient lives across Belgium.

• Drive Strategic Medical Direction: Define and own the medical strategy for assigned disease areas, aligning affiliate initiatives and allocating medical resources for maximum patient benefit.
• Champion Innovation & Diagnostic Access: Assess early-stage medical and diagnostic innovations to overcome systemic barriers and address critical unmet healthcare needs.
• Lead Evidence Generation: Spearhead clinical studies, real-world evidence initiatives, in collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders to fill important scientific gaps and shape healthcare guidelines.
• Translate Science into Impact: Convert scientific data and external medical insights into clear strategic actions, constructively shaping cross-functional dialogue.
• Transform Patient Pathways: Partner actively with laboratory networks, and healthcare systems to elevate the standard of care.

Who You Are

You are a forward-thinking scientific partner who thrives on turning complex medical concepts into transformative healthcare solutions. You are energized by cross-functional collaboration and passionate about elevating patient care standards.

• You hold a Master's degree or higher in a medical, scientific, or life sciences discipline (an advanced degree such as a PhD, PharmD, or MD is an asset).
• You bring proven experience in Medical Affairs or a strategic medical role, with demonstrated success developing disease-area strategies or evidence-generation roadmaps.
• You possess a solid understanding of clinical practice, patient journeys, and the healthcare ecosystem to recognize and address unmet patient needs.
• You have hands-on experience facilitating clinical studies or research collaborations, and scientific communications in partnership with multidisciplinary teams.
• You have a growth mindset and strong stakeholder management skills to influence, constructively challenge, and ability to communicate complex topics in simple terms while driving cross-functional collaboration with clear ownership and accountability.
• You are an articulate communicator who operates effectively in English, Dutch, and French within the Belgian healthcare landscape.
