Job summary

Chart Industries in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, seeks a Mechanical Engineer for rerates and upgrades of steam turbines, centrifugal compressors and other rotating equipment. You will blend thermodynamic and aerodynamic analysis with mechanical design, reverse engineering and documentation, supporting manufacturing and site activities.

The role is part of a succession plan; you will start with defined work packages and develop independence to execute upgrades.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Energy or related discipline.
• Up to ~4 years of experience in turbomachinery, rotating equipment, or mechanical design.
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, machine design.

Responsibilities

• Support performance-improvement, reliability and life-extension for steam turbines and rotating equipment.
• Conduct thermodynamic and aerodynamic analyses, reverse engineering, and document results.
• Support manufacturing and site activities under supervision, progressing to independent tasks.
