Mechanicaldesigndirectory is seeking a Product Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of innovative 3D printing products. The role includes engineering parts for tight tolerance injection molding and creating prototypes, while collaborating with manufacturers and partners.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in moving mechanical component/system design analysis and is proficient in 3D CAD. This contract-to-hire position is located in Braine-L'Alleud, Belgium, offering a dynamic work environment in a growing company.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Technological Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in bringing products to market.
• Experience with aluminum structures and plastic component modeling.

Join us in our mission to build the smallest and smartest 3D printing pen in the world! We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful individual to join our team.

You will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, manufacturing and testing of new products. You will use your engineering expertise and design thinking to create functional and aesthetically pleasing products while working. You will engage with manufacturers, vendors and partners as you work on the development of new products.

Responsibilities

• Engineer parts for tight tolerance injection molding
• Create development prototypes for testing and validation
• Create production documentation, GD&T
• Develop finite element models for analysis and optimization
• Perform finite element modeling, modal linear/non-linear analysis on power systems including battery enclosures, battery modules, electronic circuit boards to meet performance requirements, which include safety, reliability, weight and cost
• Develop and coordinate material testing procedures to carry out experiments to obtain model inputs in support of finite element analysis
• Develop and cascade load cases that satisfy program and industry requirements
• Provide input in the creation of component specification, component DFM, and other technical design documents where analysis plays a central role
• Document technical data generated in performing the design analysis, supporting the project design reviews

Skills

• Mechanical/Technological Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in bringing products to market
• Moving mechanical component/system design analysis including mechanical structure
• Experience with aluminum structures and plastic component modeling
• Product development and manufacturing experience
• Strong analytic problem solving skills and experience working with tight timing constraints
• Strong communication, organization and documentation skills
• Experience with 3D printing and CNC is a big plus
• Electrical and electronics experience is a plusHighly proficient in 3D CAD
