Vivid Resourcing is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a product development team focused on consumer products. You will shape designs from concept to final production, turning ideas into manufacturable solutions.

You will craft 3D CAD models, draw technical specs, select materials and processes, and build prototypes for testing and optimisation in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Fusion 360 or similar.
• Experience designing mechanical products, components or assemblies.
• Good understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques such as injection moulding, CNC machining, sheet metal, extrusion or similar.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tolerancing and design for manufacture.

Description du poste

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a highly skilled product development team, with a strong focus on the mechanical design and development of consumer products. You will be involved throughout the product development process, from initial concepts and prototypes through to testing, optimisation and final production.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys turning ideas into practical, manufacturable products. You will work on the mechanical design of components, assemblies, housings and mechanisms, considering factors such as functionality, durability, aesthetics, cost and ease of manufacture.

You will work closely with other engineers, product developers, suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure designs meet both technical and commercial requirements. The role will involve creating and developing 3D models and technical drawings, producing prototypes, testing designs and making improvements based on results and feedback.

About You

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience designing mechanical products, components or assemblies.

• Experience in consumer products, product development or high-volume manufacturing would be advantageous.
