Job summary

Geel-based Employer in Geel is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis and grow into a leadership role. You will take concepts through to final assembly and adjust designs to meet customer requirements.

The role suits a hands-on designer who enjoys end-to-end development, collaboration with customers and internal teams. Proficiency in 3D CAD is essential, with Creo being a plus; Dutch language is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design or mechanical engineering.
• Ability to create conceptual drawings and develop them into production-ready designs.
• Experience with 3D CAD; Creo is advantageous, other CAD packages acceptable.
• Understanding of materials, mechanical components and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Create initial conceptual drawings and develop designs through to final assembly.
• Update and modify existing designs based on customer requirements and project specs.
• Collaborate with customers, purchasing and final assembly to ensure designs meet requirements.
• Produce detailed technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Select suitable materials/components with basic hydraulics understanding.

Job description

We are working with an employer in Geel who are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis and grow into a leadership position in the future.

The role would suit a hands‑on designer who enjoys taking projects from the initial concept through to final assembly, making design adjustments along the way to meet specific customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating initial conceptual drawings and developing designs through to final assembly
• Updating and modifying existing designs based on customer requirements and project specifications
• Working closely with customers, the purchasing team and the final assembly team to ensure designs meet technical and practical requirements
• Producing detailed technical drawings and 3D CAD models
• Selecting suitable materials and components, with a basic understanding of hydraulics

About You

• Experience in mechanical design or mechanical engineering
• Confident creating conceptual drawings and developing them into final production‑ready designs
• Experience with 3D CAD software; knowledge of Creo is advantageous, although experience with other CAD packages will also be considered
• An understanding of materials, mechanical components and basic hydraulics
• Comfortable communicating with customers and internal teams, including purchasing and assembly
• Dutch‑speaking, with a practical, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving
