Job summary

Dcai in Belgium is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer / Draughtsperson to support projects for cold rolling mills, galvanising and coating lines, degreasing lines and annealing furnaces. You will produce mechanical drawings and BOMs, incorporating process requirements and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on CAD proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, knowledge of machining and welding, and fluency in French (English a plus).

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electromechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Understanding of machining, welding and mechanical assembly processes.
• Fluent French; English a plus.
• For autonomous design responsibilities: 5+ years of industrial experience.
• Junior applicants may be considered for detailing duties.
• Workshop experience and ERP knowledge are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) following the Project Engineer’s instructions.
• Incorporate process requirements, site constraints, manufacturing methods and safety standards into designs.
• Deliver drawings within agreed deadlines and check the quality of detailing work where applicable.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical information.
• Carry out occasional site visits for surveys, dimensional checks and engineering support.
• Report regularly on progress and planned activities.
