IMEC is seeking an Engineering Researcher to drive identification, growth, and experimental validation of emerging materials for future CMOS technologies in Leuven. You will help shape imec's exploration of novel materials, identify top candidates, define device concepts, and evaluate viability through rapid learning cycles in our university-style lab.

Qualifications

PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering with 4–5 years of experience.
Hands-on experimental materials research and/or device fabrication.
Experience with 2D materials and nanoscale devices.
Self-starter, capable of autonomous research and collaboration.

Responsabilités

Establish access to 2D or other promising materials via collaborations and in-house growth.
Identify and screen material candidates through literature studies and modelling teams.
Assess material stability, define integration paths, fabricate and characterize proof-of-concept devices.
Disseminate results through publications and presentations in a multidisciplinary environment.
