Job summary

Coreso, based in Brussels, invites a Market Simulations Intern to join the Services team and contribute to quantitative assessments of cross-border transmission capacity and its impact on European electricity markets.

You will work with experienced engineers to understand power system operations, cross-border capacity calculations and European electricity markets, while developing your skills in data analysis and visualization.

Qualifications

• We seek a curious and analytical engineering student.
• Strong interest in power systems, electricity markets and data analysis.
• Able to translate analytical results into clear conclusions and visuals.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with cross-border capacity calculation and outage planning processes at Coreso.
• Develop understanding of European Day-Ahead and Intraday markets.
• Learn to use the Simulation Facility to model Euphemia-based market coupling.
• Analyse simulation outputs and develop indicators and visualisations to explain results.
• Assess potential market impacts of planned maintenance and network outages that reduce capacity.
• Explore ways to support maintenance planning with dynamic market-impact analyses.
• Present findings to internal stakeholders and document lessons learned.
