The role ensures effective implementation of management system requirements, including ISM, ISPS, MLC and company procedures, drives timely closure of audit findings, and supports investigation and learning from incidents and non-conformities.The MSI works closely with Masters, vessel management and shore-based stakeholders to maintain audit readiness and continuous improvement.**Main responsibilities:*** Ensure effective implementation of SMS management system requirements, including ISM, ISPS, MLC and company procedures.* Drive timely closure of audit findings.* Support investigation and learning from incidents and non-conformities.* Maintain audit readiness and continuous improvement across assigned vessels.* Own and maintain the annual fleet audit program, internal and external, including risk-based planning, scope definition and audit checklists.* Plan and conduct internal audits onboard and ashore against the SMS and applicable standards, including ISM, ISPS, MLC.* Coordinate and support external audits and inspections, including Flag State audits, delegated ISM/ISPS/MLC audits, client audits, vetting inspections and certification audits, including logistics, evidence preparation and attendance where required.* Issue clear audit reports and ensure findings are registered, communicated and understood by relevant stakeholders.* Manage the full lifecycle of non-conformities and observations: facilitate root-cause analysis, agree corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), track implementation and verify effectiveness before close-out.* Monitor audit and incident trends; maintain KPIs and provide periodic reporting to management, including recommendations for systemic improvement.* Maintain controlled SMS audit documentation, including procedures, templates and forms, and ensure lessons learned are captured and disseminated across the fleet.* Support investigations into incidents, near misses and significant non-conformities; ensure corrective actions are implemented and communicated.* Provide coaching and awareness sessions to vessel crews and shore staff on audit readiness, internal controls and continuous improvement practices.* Liaise with Crewing and department heads to ensure competency gaps identified through audits are addressed.### What do we expect from you?**Qualifications and experience*** Qualified Nautical Officer required.* ISM/ISO Internal Auditor qualification is an advantage.* Business management skills are an advantage.* Experience in a people-management role is an advantage.* Relevant seagoing experience as a maritime officer; DP vessel experience preferred.* Solid working knowledge of the ISM Code, ISPS Code and MLC 2006 requirements.* Internal auditing principles and techniques: ability to plan, execute and report audits.* Root-cause analysis and CAPA management; evidence-based verification of effectiveness.* Familiarity with maritime regulatory and client audit expectations relevant to management systems, excluding survey/certification management.**Hard skills*** Professional proficiency in English.* Proficient with MS Office applications.**Soft skills*** Effective communication.* People-management skills, preferably in a multicultural environment.* Persistent, hands-on and pragmatic.* High safety awareness in all aspects.* Stress resistant.### What do we offer?* A challenging position within a fast-growing environment.* An international company.* A positive and collaborative working atmosphere in a young dynamic team.* Competitive salary.* Opportunities for active growth within our organization.
