Job summary

Tiense Suikerraffinaderij is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for its Merksem site. You will lead daily production operations, mentor team leaders and operators, and coordinate production planning with maintenance and supply chain activities.

You will also drive investment projects, promote safety and quality, and push continuous improvement in a high-tech, data-informed environment. A strong team mindset and hands-on leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Engineering (Industrial, Bio, Mechanical, Electromechanical or Chemical) or equivalent through experience.
• At least 5 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with maintenance and continuous improvement exposure.
• Proven ability to coach and motivate teams and manage managers and operators.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards.
• Collaborative mindset and a strong team-player attitude.
• Hands-on, no-nonsense work style with open communication and team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day production operations of the manufacturing plant.
• Lead, coach, and develop team leaders and production operators.
• Coordinate and optimize production planning and supply chain activities.
• Act as project leader or core team member for investments and capital expenditure projects.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to modernization of processes and equipment using data and practical experience.
