Sibelco is seeking a proactive Manager Sustainability in Dessel Plant to strengthen our Centre of Excellence. You will develop global strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead ESG disclosures while engaging with internal teams and external partners.

This role combines analytical rigor with hands-on implementation, offering international exposure, ownership of key ESG topics, and a path to shape Sibelco’s long-term sustainability value creation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in sustainability, environmental sciences, law, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, regulatory compliance, or reporting.
• Strong knowledge of European sustainability regulation (CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, PPWR).
• Ability to translate complex requirements into pragmatic processes and guidance.
• Experience in ESG disclosures, sustainability reporting, and data governance.

Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on and analytical sustainability professional to support the Centre of Excellence in developing and implementing global strategies, programs and standards. You will combine regulatory knowledge, compliance expertise, reporting capability and stakeholder engagement to bring consistent, practical solutions for Sibelco’s operations and functions worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

Regulatory intelligence and impact assessment

Track and interpret emerging ESG regulations and sustainability-related legislation, identifying potential impacts, risks and opportunities for Sibelco. Translate developments into clear, actionable guidance for relevant functions and sustainability teams.

Sustainability compliance

Drive compliance with sustainability regulations, including CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, PPWR and other ESG-related requirements. Support the development and implementation of policies, processes, controls, guidance and training.

ESG disclosure and reporting

Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, compliant ESG disclosures and sustainability reporting. Support data owners, monitor reporting requirements, challenge data quality and help improve reporting processes and systems.

Funding, grants and subsidies

Identify, evaluate and support applications for relevant funding, grants and subsidy opportunities. Coordinate with internal experts and external partners to assess eligibility, prepare robust applications and monitor related obligations.

Customer and supplier engagement

Engage with customers and suppliers to advance sustainability objectives, respond to ESG requirements and strengthen value chain collaboration. Help ensure that sustainability-related requests are handled consistently and effectively.

External representation

Represent Sibelco in industry associations, working groups and external stakeholder forums to influence and stay informed on sustainability developments. Build relevant networks and bring external insights back into the organisation.

What You Bring to the Table

• A master’s degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental sciences, law or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, ESG, regulatory compliance, reporting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of European sustainability regulation and reporting requirements, with practical experience in one or more areas such as CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy or PPWR.
• The ability to analyze complex legal and technical requirements and translate them into pragmatic business processes, concise guidance and senior-level messages.
• Experience contributing to ESG disclosures, sustainability reporting, data governance or assurance-ready reporting processes.
• Experience in funding, grant or subsidy screening and applications is an advantage.
• Confidence engaging with customers, suppliers, industry bodies, consultants and other external stakeholders.
• Strong project management, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills in an international environment.
• A proactive, structured and hands-on working style, with sound judgement, attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
• Advanced written and spoken English, proficiency in the local language of the country of employment is considered an asset.
• Good digital skills, including Microsoft Office and reporting or sustainability management systems. Power BI experience is an advantage.
