Job summary

Avanade is seeking a Managed Services L2 Cloud Engineer in Belgium to provide advanced operational support across Azure, hybrid infrastructure, virtual desktop and networking environments. You troubleshoot complex incidents, improve monitoring, automate recurring L2 activities and contribute to project work and customer‑facing operational improvements.

• Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and managed services.
• Strong networking knowledge across on‑premises and Azure.
• Experience with VDI, AVD, Citrix, RDS and migrations.
• Proficiency in Windows Server, VMware, SQL and AD/Entra ID.
• Automation via PowerShell and Runbooks; ITIL aligned process know‑how.

Responsibilities

You will join a specialised Azure and Infrastructure Managed Services team that collaborates across service delivery, cloud operations, architecture and customer stakeholders. The role combines hands‑on engineering with consulting behaviour, ownership, documentation and continuous improvement.

Role overview

As a Managed Services L2 Cloud Engineer, you provide advanced operational support across Azure, hybrid infrastructure, virtual desktop and networking environments. You troubleshoot complex incidents, improve monitoring, automate recurring L2 activities and contribute to project work and customer‑facing operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2 operational support and troubleshooting across Azure, on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure.
• Support Azure virtual machines, load balancers, Azure Firewall and Kubernetes environments.
• Operate networking services across on‑premises and Azure environments.
• Support AVD, Citrix and Remote Desktop Services environments, including migrations and proof‑of‑concept activities.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services, Entra ID, Group Policy, Intune, Exchange hybrid and Microsoft 365 services.
• Support VMware, Veeam, Infoblox, Windows Failover Clusters and SQL‑related infrastructure dependencies.
• Automate recurring operational tasks using PowerShell and Azure Automation Runbooks.
• Set up and optimise monitoring using Azure Alerts and SaaS monitoring platforms.
• Create operational guidelines, procedures and technical documentation.
• Contribute to FinOps reviews and present cost and optimisation insights to customers.
• Escalate complex issues to L3 specialists with complete diagnostics and collaborate on root‑cause resolution.
• Use ServiceNow to manage incidents, service requests, changes and problem records in line with agreed ITIL processes, service levels and operational procedures.

• Azure infrastructure operations: virtual machines, load balancers, Azure Firewall and Kubernetes
• Networking across on‑premises and Azure environments
• AVD, Citrix and RDS operations and migration support
• Hybrid identity and workplace: AD DS, Entra ID, GPO, Intune, Exchange and Microsoft 365
• Windows Server, VMware, Veeam, Infoblox, Windows Failover Clusters and SQL infrastructure awareness
• PowerShell scripting and Azure Automation Runbooks
• Azure Alerts and SaaS monitoring configuration
• FinOps awareness and cloud‑cost optimisation support
• ServiceNow for incident, service request, change and problem management, with working knowledge of ITIL processes

Experience

• 4-6 years of Microsoft infrastructure and managed‑services experience
• Broad second‑line operations support experience; advanced or L3‑level exposure is advantageous
• Hands‑on experience with VDI, networking, Azure and hybrid infrastructure
• Experience improving monitoring and automating L2 operational tasks
• Project exposure to cloud migrations, AVD replacement or proofs of concept
• Experience presenting FinOps insights or operational recommendations to customers
• Hands‑on experience using ServiceNow in a managed‑services environment and applying ITIL practices across incident, request, change and problem management
