Editx on behalf of a leading Belgian organization is seeking a Mainframe Developer (COBOL) to strengthen its IT team in Brussels. You will contribute to the development and evolution of strategic applications used internally and by a wide network of partners.

You will work autonomously across the full lifecycle, from analysis to production deployment, ensuring quality, performance and maintainability, while documenting technical solutions and collaborating with business and technical teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with COBOL and mainframe development.
• Ability to work across backend development and system integrations.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to platform evolution.

Our client, a leading Belgian organization operating in a key essential sector, is looking for a Mainframe Developer (COBOL) to strengthen its IT team. You will contribute to the development and evolution of strategic applications used both internally and by a wide network of partners.

You will join a stable, dynamic, and quality-driven environment where your technical expertise will directly contribute to the performance of the company's operations. This position is located in Brussels.

As an Mainframe Developer (COBOL), you will be involved throughout the entire application lifecycle, including:

• Analyzing both functional and technical requirements
• Designing, developing, and maintaining existing applications
• Contributing to the evolution of platforms and the integration of new solutions
• Ensuring the quality, performance, and long-term maintainability of developments
• Producing the required technical documentation
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing innovative solutions
• Collaborating closely with both business and technical teams
• Working across back-end development, application interfaces, and system integrations

You are able to work autonomously on a project, from the initial analysis phase through to deployment into production.
