NATO International Staff, Brussels, is seeking a full-time Logistics & Operations professional focused on project and facilities management within a multinational context.

The role covers project coordination, safety compliance, data management and stakeholder liaison to support HQ logistic operations. Prior experience in logistics or facility management and fluency in NATO languages are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Possess a higher secondary education qualification with 6 years of professional experience related to the post OR; possess upper vocational training/ a post-secondary degree in Facility Management, Business Operations or Supply Chain Management with at least 3 years’ experience in Facility Management or Logistic operations;
  • possess a good knowledge of general Health and Safety principles;
  • demonstrate good communication skills;
  • be proficient in the use of off-the-shelf planning tools and standard MS Office software (e.g. MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); and
  • possess the following minimum levels of NATO’s official languages (English/French): V (“Advanced") in one; III (“Intermediate") in the other.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Management:

Monitor and coordinate logistic and waste management activities and safety aspects of the assigned program and projects to support the HQ in a steady state situation. Support the Head, Logistics Services in ensuring business continuity of daily logistic support and operations to the HQ. Assess the impact of HQAP project on logistic activities. Deconflict the use of available assets and staff, when needed.

Expertise Development:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of logistics and waste management processes as well as of safety aspects. Contribute to identifying improvements and best practises in the area of expertise to support effectively the daily operations.

Information Management:

Maintain accurate and timely databases, records and tracking system to ensure data accuracy and data integrity. Draft reports and provide status updates to the Head, Logistics Services. Facilitate the exchange of information among internal and external stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management:

Work in close collaboration with the different WMBC entities, customers and other stakeholders, both internally and externally to prepare and plan logistic and waste management activities. Act as a point of contact for logistics related matters.

Perform any other related duty as assigned.

INTERRELATIONSHIPS
Reporting Line:

The incumbent reports directly to the Head, Business Continuity, Events and Logistics Section, and, operationally, to the Head, Logistics and Architect HQAP.

Interactions:

The incumbent works closely with other WMBC staff, project managers, facility-management teams, the NATO Office of Security, NATO HQ users and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.

CONTRACT TO BE OFFERED TO THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT (IF NON-SECONDED): Definite duration contract of three years; possibility of renewal for up to 3 years.

This post is required for a limited peri od to support the HQ Adaptation Programme (HQAP) project. As employment in this post is of limited duration, the successful applicant will be offered a definite duration contract of 3 years’ duration , which may be renewed for a period of up to 3 years if required to support this project.

If the successful applicant is seconded from the national administration of one of NATO’s member States, a 3 years definite duration contract will be offered, which may be renewed for a period of up to 3 years if required to support this project, and subject also to the agreement of the national authority concerned.

Serving staff will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.
