Athora Belgium, within the Life Operations department in Brussels, is seeking a 1st Line Compliance Expert to act as compliance focal point in Operations. You will execute first-line compliance activities, perform reviews, due diligence, and distribution oversight, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Law, Economics, Finance or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Compliance, AML, Risk Management or Internal Control, ideally within life insurance.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC, Sanctions, FATCA/CRS, GDPR and related regulatory requirements.

Responsabilités

• Acting as the first point of contact and subject matter expert for compliance matters across Individual Life and Group Life activities (e.g. AML/CFT, KYC, FATCA/CRS, Sanctions, GDPR, Fraud Prevention).
• Conducting distribution oversight activities and assessing compliance of the distribution network against regulatory expectations.
• Providing practical advice to managers and employees on regulatory interpretation and application.
• Reviewing complex, high‑risk files and performing four‑eyes reviews where required.
• Designing, executing and documenting first‑line controls, reviews and monitoring activities.
