Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law (Belgian or European university preferred).
• Eligibility for IBJ/IJE registration mandatory.
• 5 years of relevant experience in legal roles mandatory.
• Experience in multinational or regulated industry advantageous.
• English – full professional proficiency; French – native or near-native mandatory.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal advice to company divisions and business units.

Challenge Airlines (BE) S.A. is an airline based in Liege Airport (LGG) with a Belgian AOC. The airline operates daily scheduled cargo flights and charter services carrying nonstandard goods and general cargo internationally. Challenge Airlines (BE) is part of a Global airline group that carries approximately 400,000 tons of cargo annually. The Group is in rapid growth and is looking for great & talented people with possibility to within evolve the company.

We are seeking a proactive, commercially oriented Legal Officer to join our Group Legal Department. This role combines legal advisory, compliance oversight, cargo claims management, and commercial aviation support responsibilities. The Legal Officer will support the Group’s global operations, with a particular focus on Belgium and EU regulatory matters, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions.

The role will also include advising on commercial aviation matters and general commercial engagements, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, with particular emphasis on Belgian and European law. In addition, the Legal Officer will be responsible for supporting and managing corporate secretarial matters for the Group’s Belgian entities, including corporate governance, board and shareholder documentation, and regulatory filings.

The role also includes responsibility for ensuring the organization adheres to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices across all jurisdictions in which it operates. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, and providing guidance to business units to mitigate compliance risks.

• Liaise with management, regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Support implementation of regulatory frameworks including GDPR, NIS2, aviation regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Manage cargo-related claims and disputes, including liability assessments and settlement negotiations.

Education

• Masterr’s degree in Law (Belgian or European university preferred) – Mandatory
• Eligibility for IBJ/IJE registration – Mandatory

Experience

• 5 years of relevant experience in legal roles – Mandatory
• Experience in a multinational or regulated industry (aviation, logistics, transport, or similar) – Advantage
• Experience managing claims or disputes – Advantage
• Additional degree in business, finance, or economics – Advantage
• English – Full professional proficiency (written and spoken) – Mandatory
