CapitalatWork is seeking a senior Legal Counsel to join our Belgian Legal team. You will advise on a broad range of regulatory matters and support day-to-day governance, contracts and cross-border initiatives across Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

You will work with Compliance, HR and Management to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance in a highly regulated financial services environment. Strong Dutch/French/English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law is required.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in financial services or a highly regulated environment.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch, French and English.

Responsabilités

• Advise on financial services regulations and other regulatory matters impacting CapitalatWork.
• Draft, review and negotiate various commercial agreements and templates.
• Support corporate governance and corporate law matters.
• Provide legal support to internal departments (Compliance, HR, Project Management, …) and management.
• Coordinate with external consultants where appropriate.
• Assist with strategic projects, including occasional M&A transactions.
• Collaborate with the Luxembourg Legal team on cross-border matters.

What your future may hold

As a Legal Counsel, you will be a part of the Belgian Legal team and act as a trusted legal advisor to the business and be involved in a wide variety of legal matters, including:

• Advising on financial services regulations and other regulatory matters impacting CapitalatWork’s business;
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial agreements and templates;
• Supporting corporate governance and corporate law matters;
• Providing legal support to different internal departments (Compliance, HR, Project Management, …) and the management;
• Coordinating with external consultants where appropriate;
• Assisting with strategic projects, including occasional M&A transactions;
• Collaborating with the Legal team in Luxembourg on cross-border matters.

This is a genuinely broad in-house legal position where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to advise on a wide range of legal issues while playing an active role in shaping the organisation's future.

Your skillset

You have:

• A Master's degree in Law;
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with some of this experience gained in the financial services industry or another highly regulated environment;
• The ability to work independently and provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice;
• A genuine interest in a broad variety of legal topics rather than specialising in one narrow area;
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch, French and English.
